Ogier
Caves des Papes
Côtes du Rhône,
Châteauneuf-du-Pape | France
In 1859, Christophe Ogier established a
wine-merchants’ company called Ogier et Fils, which reached its full
potential under Antoine Ogier from 1895 onwards. In 1948, the
business became that of a /negociant-eleveur’, a buyer and producer
of wines. Some years later, a merger took place with the firm of
Bessac Caves des Papes in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, one of the major
merchants and producers of wine, which had started as a cooperage.
Thus, Ogier Caves des Papes has become one of the foremost houses in
the Rhône valley, based in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. At the
onset of the new millennium, Ogier Caves des Papes became associated
with the house of Leonce Amouroux and their renowned Clos de
l’Oratoire des Papes.
