Mas Doix
Poboleda, Priorat | Spain
The Doix family originates from Poboleda and has
been in the winemaking business in the region for the last 5
generations. The goal of the property is to extract as much of the
individual character of each parcel through the use of various
fermentation and elevage techniques, all while manipulating the raw
material as little as possible. Like other areas of the Priorat,
Poboleda lies at high altitude and is characterized by steep,
rock-covered hillsides. The vines are planted on what appears to be
pure grey and black slate, with no dirt visible at the surface. The
vines vary in age between 70 and 100 years old.
